Abstract:

On 28-th of April 2008 Cubesat Delfi-C3 was launched into a low-Earth sun-synchronous orbit with on-board the first European fully autonomous and wireless sun sensor AWSS from TNO. On 2-th of November 2009 the ESA spacecraft PROBA-2 was launched into a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 700 km with on-board an APS based Digital Sun Sensor of TNO. This paper presents a brief overview of the two sensor designs and presents information for both units on their initial and current performance characteristics as derived from evaluations of the raw data coming from space.
