The first flight of the HTV (H-II Transfer Vehicle), which is a Japanese unmanned cargo transfer spacecraft, successfully demonstrated its capability to deliver supplies to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2009. The second HTV (HTV-2), which was given a number of improvements, was launched in 2011 and it successfully completed its mission as well. A lot of Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) functions were demonstrated on orbit during HTV missions. This paper presents concept of HTV automated GN&C system, on-orbit demonstration plan and its result at the HTV-1 and HTV-2 mission.
