Abstract:

During the TET-1 project Astro- und Feinwerktechnik Adlershof GmbH (AFW) recognized that there is lack of special small satellite sensors. Attitude and position sensors are often developed for larger satellites. They have high power consumption, high mass and large dimension. That’s why they often don’t fit into small satellites. Classical sensors developed for small satellites are often low cost developments with low reliability. During the TET-1 project AFW had the problem to find reliable special small satellite sensors on a high quality standard. That’s why AFW decided together with partners to develop special small satellite attitude and position sensors on high quality standards resulting in the AGS-1 gyro system, the AGPS-1 GPS receiver and the ACM magnetometer.
