Abstract:

The on-board attitude and orbit control software is at the heart of the intelligence of the PROBA-1 and PROBA-2 spacecraft providing the spacecraft with the unique capability to autonomously enable functions and operational modes without ground support. Following the success of the PROBA-1 and PROBA-2 missions, the attitude and orbit control software technology has been further advanced for the PROBA-V mission. Innovative algorithms have been developed, implemented and validated as part of the PROBA-V attitude and orbit control software. This paper presents the integration and system-level test results for the PROBA-V attitude and orbit control software focusing on the novelties compared to PROBA-1 and PROBA-2. To support the presentation of these test results, this paper first overviews the PROBA-V mission and its attitude and orbit control software. Then, each innovation is introduced along with a presentation of the integration test results validating it. Finally, the system-level test results are presented.
