Abstract:

In this paper, batch orbit determination procedure for geostationary satellites is presented. This procedure includes preprocessing measurements and estimation with the non-recursive Batch Filter Method. The real raw pointing and ranging measurements are taken from the real operated ground station antennas at TURKSAT. Preprocess algorithm is applied to the raw measurements in order to reject undesired ones. Batch Nonlinear Least-Square is applied to estimate initial conditions by using preprocessed measurements. In order to evaluate accuracy and robustness of system, estimation is repeated with single and multiple ground station measurements for satellites TURKSAT-3A, 4A and 4B. Estimation results are also compared with reference orbit determination software which is currently being used at TURKSAT Satellite Control Center.
