Abstract:

The on-going robotic developments for space application are making On-Orbit Servicing (OOS) missions closer to reality, while paving the way for future challenges like autonomous rendezvous with celestial bodies or Active Debris Removal (ADR) [1-2]. Such technologies have been integrated in an experimental ground demonstration in the scope of the H2020 project called EROSS (European Robotic Orbital Support Services). This project aims at integrating the past H2020 building blocks (see Contributions section) within a system design oriented towards a servicing mission. The proposed Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) and Autonomy architectures are presented here in the scope of a collaborative rendezvous between a Servicer and a Client spacecraft, where the main focus is on the autonomy implementation top orchestrate the GNC functions and the equipment modes.
