On-Board Real-Time Calibration of Non-Synchronous Attitude Sensors and Gyros
Many spacecraft missions require precise pointing of their payload boresight and such precision is obtained at reasonable expense in part by system alignment calibration. A high pointing accuracy is provided by the data fusion of Multi-Head Star Sensors and low noise gyros as the fiber optical rate integrating gyros. The present work proposes on-board real-time calibration algorithms capable of estimating the uncalibrated parameters of gyros and the misalignments of the Multi-Head Star Sensors. Moreover, the calibration filter is designed taking into account delays among the sensors measurements.
